Captain Emmett Bird’s war efforts and the impact it had on the whole army
This article is supporting the efforts of author Cindy Entriken to present the life of her auntie Ila Armsbury who had taken part in the war efforts of WWII. During Ila’s life, she had recorded the acts of many important people as well as soldiers who had supported the war efforts which have not been mentioned as much as they should.
The following content is published with the approval of Cindy Entriken, the author of Ila’s War, in which she defines the reasons for writing the book as well as an interesting chapter that defines the war efforts of Captain Emmett Bird Settle towards eliminating typhus.
My first ever book, a World War II memoir about my great aunt who was an Army nurse stationed in Australia, was published in 2020. It’s called Ila’s War and it’s gotten some very positive reviews if I do say so myself. The completion of that book was similar to when you cease banging your head against a brick wall — it feels so damn good when you stop!
