The Time a White Manager Poured Acid on Black Activists
A forgotten story from the civil rights movement of 1964
On June 18th, 1964 a man by the name of James Brock poured acid in a pool where Black and White activists were protesting by swimming together to protest segregation. Due to the media, this story wasn't remembered so well and this is because most media outlets at the time made Jame Brock (the manager who poured the acid on the activist) be seen by the public as the victim of this whole story even if he wasn't the one harmed but the one causing harm.
This protest or movement against segregation was actually planed by Martin Luther King Junior with the help of two of his associates. The plan was to gather as many Black and White activists and have them bathe or swim in motel pools all around Florida as a protest against not only motels but all the establishments who still segregated White people from Black people.
