It is not about questioning the validity of a religion, but questioning the integrity of the bible because from this case as well as many others it seems that the bible had a lot more information than what is presented today. Some chapters use such attentive detail to describe minor things whilst others barely mention important things within a few lines, not even that. This also shows support on the theory that the Bible had been written by multiple authors, which would explain the inconsistencies.
