I feel Medium needs to critically think how certain things they implement will affect the eco-system of the platform. I remember when Medium members were paid for claps and not reads people had similar groups where they would "clap for clap". So I guess it may just be the nature of some users or the culture created in Medium.

Really currios to see what the next big change will bring.
