How to Stay Happy During the COVID-19 Pandemic
During these dire times that we live in it can be very difficult to stay positive and happy as things are getting worst day by day, however, this is because we chose to only look at the bad aspects whilst we forget that there are also some good aspects which most of us haven’t taken into consideration or haven’t even realized.
I myself have been going through the longest and fastest emotional train of my life during the last week because my life has taken an emergency brake because I have to take care of my family. Most of my family members are working within the medical field and because of the COVID-19 pandemic they have to work extensive hours, this means that they don’t have time to take care of the house neither their children so this is where I come in.
At the same time, my parents have been having symptoms and they are not feeling well whilst being in complete lockdown with my little brother. I can barely sleep or eat because of the constant stress that this predicament has put me into.
Having this shift in life has made me feel very bizarre and quite careless about my future as family is my first priority in any given situation.
So I said enough is enough!
This state of mind that I ended in for the last week has brought me to near separation to see some light from the end of the tunnel even if we don’t yet know how long this tunnel may be.
Say no to negativity!
I wanted to be more positive and I have started doing certain things to firstly keep me away from any negativity. The first major change is trying to avoid any social media space as there is only bad news nowadays on any social media platform so none of that anymore.
I believe that most of you who read this may be or have been in the same situation as me, this is why I want to share with you some of the positive aspects brought by this pandemic rather than your usual negative and pessimistic aspects.
Being realistic is usually my go-to characteristic however, being realistic brings some pessimism into the equation therefore I say optimism full throttle.
Without further a due here are some positive aspects to the COVID-19 Pandemic:
1. The world is healing
Since many countries (almost the whole world) has come to a lockdown most 90% of vehicles that produce carbon dioxide have not been used and in only 5 days since doing so, the Ozone layer has already started to heal rapidly. This means that the process of global warming will not only slow down and stop but also, start to reframe to it’s normal status from 20–30 years ago when the pollution levels were a lot lower.
2. People opening their eyes to the world
It is indeed tragic that we needed this sort of a major Pandemic in order to stop, however, this has truly opened people’s eyes when it comes to things such as the importance of the Medical industry as well as how much damage we are causing to our own planet. The society is finally waking up and smelling the polluted air as well as the hatred that we created around the world. This event has brought countries and nations closer than ever.
3. Health and Medical industry getting the attention they deserve
It has been said many years ago that such an event in the form of a Pandemic will take place but the world did not listen therefore they weren’t willing to invest in the Medical industry. However, now society has truly felt the need of strong Medical industry and how vital a good health system is during these times therefore over 80 billion dollars from around the world have been invested into the Medical industry to help heal those infected and stop the others by offering them medicine to improve their immune system.
Despite how bad things may get try to stay positive by looking at the bright side. There may be even more positive aspects which I haven’t noticed or have happened yet so we need to be on the lookout for those.
