After 40 Years the CIA Has Officially Admitted That It Armed the Taliban

A conspiracy that has come to an end as the US Army is preparing to leave Afghanistan for good

For many years since the end of the Cold War, there had been this conspiracy that the American Government supplied terrorists with weapons. Here we are with the CIA publicly admitting that they had “only” supplied missile launchers in order to help the Taliban defend against the Soviet invasion more effectively.

The Soviet invasion of Afghanistan

The reasons as to why the Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan are still debated by historians to this day, but the most plausible and believed reasons are to stop the terrorists from taking over the People’s Democratic Party of Afghanistan (PDPA) and most probably if the invasion would turn out successful, to implement a communist system, therefore spreading communism. Other’s speculate that they were there just for the rare resources found within Afghanistan such as gold and oil.

Whatever the reason, this meant good news for the United States as the Soviets were depleting their military trying to fight terrorism, lowering the possibilities of an attack on America or even World War III. However, the Soviets were still no joke…
