Personal interests in the medical world make me do a lot of research in this field, especially in the history of medicine and how it has evolved over the years. If you would have told me that back in the 19th century, when slavery was still common, society believed that Black people were more resilient to pain than white people I would have understood the origin of this misconception. However, what truly surprised me is to find out that not only is this myth still believed to this day, but also that international medical schools are still teaching this lie!

Lina Marcela Medina is confirmed to be the youngest mother in history, giving birth at the young age of 5 years and 7 months old. Lina was born on September 23, 1933, in Peru. She came from what seemed to be a humble family, her mother by the name of Victoria Losea who was a housemaker and her father by the name of Tiburelo Medina who was a silversmith.
At the age of 5 and 6 months, her parents noticed an abnormal abdominal swelling which at first sight they thought it could have been some sort of tumor but would…
Blanche Monnier was a gorgeous girl from France who ended up having one of the most tragic lives. She was born on the 1st of March, 1849 in Poitiers, France in what was thought to be a wonderful family at the time. Her beauty, physical appearance, and good nature attracted a lot of attention, and most importantly many potential suitors for marriage. The vaccine for the Covid-19 virus is probably the most anticipated elixir in history, but this means that a lot of pressure is put on the WHO (World Health Organisations) as well as other medical institutions around the world that are working towards a vaccine which will hopefully put an end to this pandemic. When having so much pressure as a medical or any member within the medical institution, you can rush things in order to save as many lives as possible. …
A normal presidential term lasts four years which is enough time for a president to make a positive impact on the country he is leading, but sometimes things don’t go as planned, especially when the “wrong” president is chosen.

Freedom has become to be the most important factor within modern society and there are millions of people that work towards sharing the importance of freedom and the suffering it has caused for those who lacked freedom in the past.
The United Nations formed in 1945 to make sure that peace is kept around the world but most importantly that all human beings are free. The organization has been working since its formation to abolish slavery in the third-world countries that still practice it during the 21st century.
It is difficult to think about what humans will look like 1,000 years from now on, not only because of the thousands of science fiction movies that are trying to portray the future of humanity but also because we are constantly outpacing our previous evolution.
As humans we see ourselves to be quite fragile but throughout history, there have been some people that seemed to be pulled out of science fiction movies for their incredible abilities. Frank Richards, although forgotten today, became popular in the 20th century for taking a cannonball straight to the abdomen without feeling much nor any damage.
Richards was born in 1887 as a normal and healthy child that loved to be the center of attention. In his teenage years, he realized that he didn’t feel much pain when hit in the abdomen. …
The 20th century has seen an extraordinary amount of technological evolution that sadly made some jobs obsolete, giving a rise to the rate of global unemployment. Machines have started to slowly replace manual jobs as they are cheaper and much more efficient.
A person needs to be recruited, trained, and eventually promoted which inquires high costs whereas a piece of machinery comes with only one price and the eventual maintenance work in case it breaks down.
Since the start of the 20th century, most of the world’s population doubted the practical use of technology because they felt it's not reliable…

The Artist’s Studio by Gustave Courbet is considered to have a deep meaning as it is more of a testimony to the artist's view on life.
Courbet described the painting as:
“A real allegory summing up seven years of my artistic and moral life”.
The painting is described as a manifest that is trying to criticize the contemporary norm of art and how an artist…
